Hydrangeas

This is actually our back garden from our old house in Titirangi. We had a beautiful bush garden with light blue hydrangeas and gorgeous native trees. I always intended to make the hydrangeas red to make them stand out…. I’m allowed to , I’m an artist.

Again, created by one of my favourite techniques, with palette knives not paint brushes. Oil paint is gorgeously buttery and when applied straight from the tube with a palette knife builds up a great textural effect.
