Objet D’Art as the French call it is generally any artwork or creation which is not specifically a painting on a canvas or a large sculpture.
However, more recently is has come to describe something meticulously made by hand, with great care and attention to detail, often miniature, and of great value despite it’s size:- the Fabergé egg being a good example.
Object Art can be purely decorative and visually aesthetic and/ or have another purpose as these mini creations do. They can be desktop dream-makers, mini intricate hanging artworks or brought to dining table as coasters.
