Description
A new technique trending at the moment is Alcohol Ink Art. These gorgeous fluid effects are created with alcohol based inks on a synthetic feel paper (not cheap by the way) and then moved around the paper with a hair dryer or by blowing through a straw. I’ve tried both techniques and blowing creates little mini imperfections due to the water in your mouth so hair drying the ink around gets a cleaner finish. It’s not a method easy to control but why would you want to ?? Isn’t that the point of experimenting ?
Believe it or not this alcohol ink creation came about from only the primary colours….. noted, yes – 2 reds – 1 warm and 1 cold Magenta red which when it fused with the Ultramarine blue created the most intense and beautiful purple….ahhhh, my favourite colour. The key is not to interfere too much or you’ll end up with too much brown – which is the result of mixing all the Primary colours together.
