Willow-Pink

This charcoal/pastel drawing of the singer Pink with her daughter was done on  280gsm metallic gold paper. Shadows in black and highlights in white pastel and allowing  most of the gold paper to show throw created a gorgeous combination of textures on the paper. I accented her earrings and some highlights in their hair also in gold inks.

I brought the original drawing to her concert when she came to Auckland to perform but to this day I’m not sure if it actually got to her or not—- you never know !?!

This a new and very contemporary style for me and the photo doesn’t show the luminosity of the paper and mediums used. It was so much more exotic in real life and I’m very much looking forward to someone asking me to complete a portrait for them in this style.
